Beyond the gathering storm [electronic resource] / Janette Oke.

Oke, Janette, 1935- (Author). Gavin, Marguerite. (Added Author).

Summary:

Raised as siblings, they had learned true compassion from the examples of Elizabeth Wynn ... As a youth, Henry was rescued from terrible circumstances by the Delaneys. Their love and care for him helped to heal those painful memories, and he now has grown into a young man of character and deep faith. Henry follows his father into the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and as representative of the law, he faces some duties that leave him with haunting memories--particularly of the young widow and baby boy whom he longs to help. But her tragic loss and deep grief have left her frightened and emotionally vulnerable. Some years after Henry was adopted, Christine also joined the Delaney family. She, too, learned to know her parents' God. When she moves to the city to find employment, it is with full determination to follow in the faithful footsteps of her parents and beloved older brother. Her employer's son captures her heart and eventually her promise to become his wife.
